  1. Which weekly objectives do you have prior knowledge of, and to what extent?

I have prior knowledge of the objectives in Topic One concerning characteristics of successful students and the link between academic integrity and professional accountability in nursing practice. Apple et al. (2016) explain that the attributes that make a learner ready for academic success include a growth mindset, learning strategies, social learning skills, affective learning skills, and productive academic behavior. Lynch et al. (2022) explain that there is a relationship between academic integrity and the development of clinical skills in addition to the growth of nursing learning, which offers a connection to professional nursing practice. I also have prior knowledge of the objectives in Topic Two concerning the definition of professional accountability in nursing practice. Chesterton et al. (2021) explain that professional accountability relates to pertinent ethical, legal, and professional standards that are universally held. Nurse professionals are held accountable by others and themselves concerning their actions in practice. As a result, they should adhere to the law, their healthcare institution, personal moral principles, and the set professional code of conduct.

There are various weekly objectives I lack prior knowledge of. For example, I lack prior knowledge of the objectives in Topic Three concerning how the theory of servant leadership reinforces leadership competencies. Hai & Van (2021) explain that servant leadership focuses on competencies such as shared power in decision-making. I also lacked comprehensive knowledge of determining an appropriate change management model for specific organizational goals. Errida & Lotfi (2021) explain various change management models have been developed to facilitate change. These models include Lewin’s 3-stage model, Luecke’s 7-step model, and Kotter’s 8-step model.

  1. What course-related topics would you like to discuss with your instructor and classmates? What questions or concerns do you have about this course?

There is one course-related topic I would like to discuss with my instructor and classmates, and it relates to selecting the appropriate change management model to facilitate change in nursing practice. The main question would be, “What is the best change management model considering the comprehensive implications of the COVID-19 pandemic?”
